Solar Powered Printing – Harnessing the Power of the Sun

At Indigo Ross Design and Print Ltd, we care about our environmental impact and are always trying to find ways to improve and lower our carbon footprint.

We believe in leading by example when it comes to sustainability, and one of the steps we’ve taken to achieve this is the installation of solar panels on the roof of our office. With this green initiative, we can generate our own renewable electricity to power our printers and computers.

Solars panels are a brilliant addition to our sustainability efforts. Not only do they help us reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources, but they help us reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources, but they also contribute to a cleaner, greener planet. Here are some key benefits of our solar panel system:

solar power printing
  1. Clean and Renewable Energy: Solar panels harness the power of the sun, a clean and renewable source of energy. By using solar power to run our office equipment, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint.
  2. Environmental Responsibility: By choosing solar energy, we’re actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping combat climate change. This aligns with our mission to be responsible stewards of the environment.
  3. Cost Savings: Generating our own electricity means lowering energy bills. The savings can be reinvested in other eco-friendly initiatives.

Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at solar panels. Here are some other ways we think about reducing our environmental impact:

  1. Sustainable Materials: All of our standard materials are sourced from sustainable suppliers, ensuring that our printing process minimises its impact on the environment.
  2. Carbon-Neutral Materials and Packaging: We take the extra step to ensure our materials and packaging are carbon-neutral and recyclable, reducing waste and carbon emissions.
  3. Electric Vehicles & Bike-to-Work Schemes: We use electrical vehicles, as well as encouraging our staff to cycle to work, meaning we can produce fewer emissions.
  4. imposition Printing: We maximise the use of every printed sheet through imposition printing, reducing waste and conserving materials.
  5. Waste Recycling: A significant 80% of our waste is recycled, diverting it from landfills and minimising our environmental footprint.
  6. Carbon Offset and Reforestation: We capture all CO2 emissions generated from our paper and packaging purchases by planting native woodlands in the UK, in partnership with the Woodland Trust and Woodland Carbon Scheme. We’re also dedicated to supporting tree-planting initiatives throughout the UK.

Every step we take towards sustainability, including the installation of solar panels, reflects our commitment to a greener future. We believe that businesses have a vital role to play in addressing environmental challenges, and we are proud to be at the forefront of these efforts.

By adopting these eco-friendly practices, we are not only reducing our own carbon footprint by also inspiring positive change throughout our industry and among our customers.

Together we can make a significant impact on our planet, and we are excited to continue our journey toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.
