Indigo Ross and the Environment
To help care for the environment, Indigo Ross minimises waste and passes on any surpluses for recycling. In addition, all of our standard materials have been produced from sustainable sources.
To cut waste, we use as much as possible of every printed sheet by employing a process known as imposition. This allows an apparently random arrangement of individual pages to be folded, bound and trimmed so that each one appears the right way round and in the right order.
We also have a full range of recycled materials available in different grades (such as 50, 70 or 100% recycled). These are now so good in quality, they’re barely distinguishable from their non-recycled equivalents – if you don’t believe us, have a look at our latest printed stationary, it’s printed on 100% recycled stock.
As well as all this, Indigo Ross is currently working to achieve certification as a CarbonNeutral® company by working with our local paper merchants and The CarbonNeutral Company, a world-leading provider of carbon reduction solutions, to measure and reduce its CO2 emissions from our paper use and print production.
By choosing to certify our printed media and paper as CarbonNeutral®, we are supporting verified carbon reduction projects that compensate for the carbon footprint of our paper, minimising its impact on the environment. Carbon offsets are quantified and sold in metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). So by buying one tonne of paper, the carbon offsets from that order means there will be one less tonne of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than there would otherwise have been.
